The first ever Grand Prix. Don't be confused as it is not that F1 I'm referring to. It will be the biggest charity event organised by HSBC and it's called HSBC's Charity Grand Prix 2007 and it's gonna be held at Taman SOAS and around town on Nov 11. I had a conversation with Mr. Matthew B Martin, the COO of HSBC, yesterday afternoon and he is very enthusiastic about organising such event. He has transformed HSBC in Brunei as the bank that cares. It's not just donating to charity but contribute in terms of community work by the some HSBC officers/staff which are more meaningful to the community.

Matthew Martin

Now the difficult challenge as Matthew addressed was the participation of the private companies in the upcoming charity event. He is happy that these companies (car dealers, other banks, hotels etc) are donating but it will be nice to see them in action and taking part in the activities lined up during the event. So guys, don't be shy.. I'm sure it's gonna be one fun day and you get to prove to the rest that your company rocks in these games. Of course, the main event of the charity event will be a corporate race along Jln Sultan for the business communities.

Apart from that the public is more than welcome to participate as well. For more information and registration, you can contact Dexter Keasberry at 2242 472 or 2252 252. You can also listen to Kristal FM starting Monday on their awareness of the Charity Grand Prix 2007.

The Raya Visits. Last weekend was pretty hectic for me. Last Saturday I had like 11 pitstops to make and I managed to cover all the places but I had to control my food consumption. Overall, I clocked 30 houses last weekend and this weekend, it's only around 15 houses which is pretty much managable. Thanks guys for the invitation.

Darussalam Holdings was the first destination last Saturday as they held an open house for their customers and at the same time, they held a lucky draw for those who came. I wonder who won the flight to Bangkok.

The 172 family. It was slightly different for them this Raya. Most of the family were away but Mameng and Yuraina hosted the open house for their family and friends. I love the "ati buyah" *spelling*

Ripin's. He is one of our photog friends and well known as RJ 63 in the blogging world and we had a bit of an adventure with strobbing at his place. I love the prawns, man.

Nintendo Wii, like I said before, is quite popular among households. I guess it's more family oriented genre and the Wii Sports have been a big hit when they play Wii. My friend Ak Md Fairol owns one and he beat me convincingly in Winning Eleven (I'm a retiree in WE). Sorry, I didn't stay there long, buddy but at least I get to venture the other side of Brunei which I hardly go to.

Next was at Shazali, a friend who's no stranger to my website (His pictures have been featured on numerous occasions last year). He is never without his handycam. So are you gonna share with us what you took? Sorry, I missed out on the kebab because I was too full to eat anything.

Next I had to rush to d' Other Office which was holding an Open House gathering for their customers. I was also introduced to the Japanese Ambassador. Their bistro and cafe outlet is opened now. It's famous for its Mee Rebus.

The next pitstop was at Dk Hazel and Dk Juliana place. First of all, my condolences to Dk Hazel once more for the demise of her late husband. May he rest in peace. Al-Fatihah. I kinda lost my bearings heading to their house last weekend but with some guide on the phone, I managed to locate.

I was back in Jerudong area again at night after some quick refreshing at home. I was watching the Liverpool vs Everton (2-1) in between and I caught the last ten minutes at Liyana's open house. Her mom heard our bloggers vs DJs trivia on the radio too and she's also aware of my website (oo oo!) I also found out that night that Lydia is in the airline industry.

The last destination last Saturday was at the 68 family. I missed the fireworks earlier on their place. I stayed quite a while and caught up with old friends. It was also the first time that I went inside Idris Jaafar's crib. Excellent mate!! And I love the Golden Gun lamp. It was very unique.
