Kreativgarten re-launched at Jaya Setia Square. Last Sunday, I attended the re-launch of Kreativgarten run by Rachael Tan and the previous location was at Serusop. Now it has shifted to Setia Jaya Square, not far from the Brunei International Airport.
Now Kreativgarten is offering more classes for pre-nursery kids and it also teaches "Kindermusik" which is preschool music and movement programs for newborn babies, children and big kids. And did you know that Rachael also teaches baby sign language to make it easier to communicate between the parents and the baby.
There's also a session for "Meet Other Moms" (M.O.M) support group and it's every Wednesday 2-3:30pm and Friday 9:30-11am and this is where new moms can share their thoughts and experiences after birth, breast feeding and more.
So where is it located? It's same building as Comsopolitan College, Unit 3, 1st Floor, Jaya Setia Square.

Why? Some of the students from the Nursing College of HRH Princess Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah volunteered during the "Fundraising for the Polar Girls" campaign organised by Brunei Adventure Recreation Association (BARA). And last Saturday, BARA handed out certificates for those involved during the said campaign which raised a total of BND 9,492.
Hj Rahim Hj Damit, the education officer of research unit of the Nursing College was delighted that the students were involved and it's not the first time that the Nursing College have been involved in fundraising activities. He also thanked BARA for believing in the students for volunteerism.
Aniza, one of the Polar Girls, presented the certificates to the volunteers.

Local students attended a training session held at The International School Brunei in preparation for the upcoming ISB Borneo Global Issues Conference which will be held at ISB and the ICC from 27 February 2009 – 2 March 2009. The theme for this year’s conference is ‘Cultural Survival: Rights and Aspirations of Indigenous Peoples’.
Nearly 200 local school students will form the majority of this year's annual conference, with 66 overseas students from various international schools in Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.
ISB student leaders have been managing an online forum for participants and the response from local students has been positive. Forum 2 Secretary-General Then May Anne said, “The online forum is very much like Facebook; it is very user-friendly and enables participants to discuss parliamentary procedure as well as ask questions. Teenagers are all IT-savvy and they can easily download relevant documents and read helpful blogs.”
“Another important advantage is that we are all making contact online; we are looking forward to meeting each other face-to-face during the training sessions and the actual conference itself. With nearly 300 students participating in this conference, we want to help everyone make the most of their ISB BGIC experience by encouraging them to actively and confidently represent their allocated countries during committee debate sessions,” said Forum 1 Secretary-General Yasmin Murphy.
"We are very pleased to work with local student participants from Maktab Duli, Maktab Sains, PAP Hajah Masna, SOAS, SMJA, STPRI, SM Rimba, SM Masin, SM PIHM, SM Sufri Bolkiah Tutong, SM Pg Jaya Negara PHAB Kuala Belait, PTE Katok, Chung Hwa and JIS,” she added.

Last Sunday, Business School (Gadong) celebrated their 4th Anniversary by holding a bazaar near their school. They had lion dance performances, games, food stalls, Pro Evo tournament and even performances from the participants of the "Move It" competition. Yuniza and her friends set up their booth and they had good sales on that day alone. I love the chicken beriyani by the way. Yum, yum!!

This is good news for future students who want to pursue their studies at University of Brunei Darussalam. Last Thursday, the "Generation NEXT Degrees" program was launched at UBD. There will be four degree programmes - Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Health Science and Bachelor of Business. The courses as Dr. Zulkarnain, UBD's Vice Chancellor said, are fast-track courses that are relevant to our society and it will prepare the graduates for unpredictability in the future.
